A busy year of developments

2025 was a significant year of developments. We invested in our technology, our buildings, and our cricket community.

These projects represent a significant investment in the future of Chard Cricket Club, while considering the environment and making best use of our funds. Modernisation will help us continue to provide a fantastic resource for our players and the wider community.

  • External Youth Training Programme; Thanks to Toby Stirzaker for providing 10 weeks of dedicated support for our youth section. 

 

Exciting plans for 2026

We are hoping to achieve modern facilities that match the ambitions we have for success and inclusion through our ongoing development initiatives. These improvements are crucial for enhancing the playing experience, attracting new members, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the club.

This year we have a huge focus on renovation of our old nets. They are currently not up to standard and are unsafe for use by the hundreds of young people who want to spend time using our facilities. 

The surface and equipment does not help our senior teams prepare effectively for their competitive challenges ahead and the impression they give of the club shows a state of disrepair. 

Fundraising is well underway and we are aiming for a target of £15k for a full refurbishment before the start of the 2026 preparation season.
